One look at spreadsheets used to make me go into a panic. But there came a point where I felt so out of control with my finances. I couldn't find anything online that gave me the kind of bird's eye view of the year that I wanted, so I made one myself. I've been using this system since 2017, updating it monthly, and have felt in control ever since.

OF NOTE
: These work under the assumption that you have a separate bank account for business and personal. That way, you can pay yourself a paycheck from your business account to your personal and project out how much you need to make to stay in business (and stay alive!) with an irregular income. I also use https://www.waveapps.com in addition to these for a more detailed report of actual income and expenses.
